Design and Marine engineering (DME) department is capable of providing varied engineering solutions. Through trainings in India and France, this team has locally supported the P-75 program over the last decade, thus becoming a local arm of the engineering departments in France.
Having trained Indian engineers, the back-offices in France continues to support the DME team of Naval Group India, for providing engineering solutions for the P-75 and follow-on programs.
Creation of trained and proven resources has not only improved the response time but has also developed a local pool of engineers with P-75 design engineering knowledge.
Detail design and production engineering is where the project comes to life with precision and accuracy. Through use of Product data management (PDM)/ Product lifecycle management (PLM) tools, our detail engineering services cover every aspect of the project, ensuring that all disciplines are thoroughly coordinated and integrated.
Value engineering: It ensures a reduced cost added value, analysis of life-cycle and maintainability. Our team consider all nuances of the project when making value engineering proposals to our clients. Preliminary engineering is more than just a set of concept plans – it forms the foundation of a successful project.
Configuration management: It ensures a systematic approach to managing and controlling the configuration of a product or system throughout the lifecycle from Basic/Detailed Design to Through Life Services. It ensures that the product’s performance, functional and physical attributes are consistent with its requirements, design and operational information.
Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies: These are undertaken in the very early stage of a project and are carried out when a project is large or complex, or to mature the proposed development. Through these studies, we establish whether the project is viable or not and help identify feasible options.
Detailed design: It's a process of taking on and developing the approved concept design to ensure that the design can now be engineered for the next phases. It describes integration of all the main components of the solution and fitting them together.
Production engineering: Based on the detailed design, we develop all drawings and documents necessary for the production phase. Our teams are skilled and trained to produce engineering data required for construction, integration, trials and maintenance.
Industrialisation: This is the last phase which transforms the design into a product. This depends on the competencies and infrastructure of the agency performing the last mile actions. We have the capabilities to customise and develop industrialisation plans.
Our team offer complete engineering services to provide part customisation during maintenance of equipment and systems, utilising skilled drafters and the latest software packages, Naval Group India can produce 3D models, 2D drawings, equipment technical manuals and other services, thus allowing delivery of integrated engineering services during maintenance. Our skilled team are subject matter experts in their fields and also have experience across a variety of disciplines such as design validation and optimisation, finite element analysis and value engineering etc. This versatile workforce allows us to support marine industry in their re-engineering requirements.
